anyway.,. back to the tv shopping...
So after lunch - ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=92.2) yakdog and I venture over to BestBuy to see what I can get for my money. After the hard sell from the salesman (i swear i know him from somewhere and its not from "the list"), i decided on a Panasonic 25 inch idiot box. After verifying that Steve could indeed lift this monstrosity, we set out for the parking lot. What a bad plan this was. After trying the back seat, the trunk, and the front seat - we realized that stuffing this monstrosity in the car was similar to a birth in reverse of an oversized watermelon in to a midget's ass. We budged and pushed and shoved and while I gave my less than helpful directions - steve only succeeded in drenching his shirt in sweat. Steve finally grabbed a cutting implement from the trunk and he ripped open the box in a fashion so that he could fit it in the front seat with the seat turned back all the way. It took 10 minutes to pull that one off. Thankfully, the tv took all of 3 minutes to figure out andf set up once it arrived in my house and then i was all set to enjoy a tv that was 75 percent bigger than my old one. It will take some time to get used to the huge size of the picture (some people are not meant to be viewed at this resolution), but it's totally workable :) Big thanx to yakdog for making it all possible. |

Woohoo
So I convinced yakdog to help me in my quest for a television set. We went to lunch first and discussed our future plans as man and wife. Its a happy pasttime which involves Steve being gleeful about the dowry he receives for marrying me (my parents really really wanna get rid of me) and me describing our wedding at the Fantasm convention. I plan on wearing some sort of white (or cream colored to follow "tradition") rubber outfit. Unfortunately for my body - i would have to wear some sort of boob inserts. Steve reveals this nugget of knowledge in the middle of my narrative: "A girl shouldn't have to wear fake boobies on her wedding day" I nearly spit out my tea on that one. |

My tv has just switched off. It just blanked out. No picture.. nothing. I think the tube is burned out. I asked someone what this means.. they told me that it means i need to get a new tv. Gah. So i guess I know what my mission is today. I gotta find someone to help me shop for a new TV. Scratch that. I need to get someone to help me carry it and then hook up the cables and stuff cuz I am a wimpy girl when it comes to electronics. yakdog? weswilson? one of you guys off work today and wanna prove how strong ya are? There is a free lunch involved :) |

so i ended up going out last nite...
yakdog called up after giving his shift to someone else around 7:30 and the pull of not interacting with my TV and actually going out to socialize was too great. We knew that bardiva wasn't working that nite and figured she would be at the Jazz Factory celebrating her first day at work with her co workers. We were wrong. So one calzone and a few beers later - we headed over to Humphreys to see if maybe she picked up another shift... nope. So then we called up thorny and made him hang out with us. We all met up over at weswilson's house to see if wes had gotten off work. Nope. So we hung out with lunatikl for a bit while my cell phone charged up and then headed to Fridays for some trivia. Maybe steph was over there. Nope. Steph, where did you go? we missed you. Trivia was fun. I got Steve to sign up to get players plus points so he can look geeky like the rest of us. I am up to 137K since at one point in my life - i lived off multiple choice questions and happy hour. It seems that they never reset your account or delete it. Go me. And then I got to talking to the people beside me. And they told me something disturbing. They said i looked like Ann Coulter. I apparently have her mannerisms and her hairstyle. And then they said I had her smirk. That's when I got mad. This is MY smirk, dammit. She is emulating ME. We left shortly before the squabble became a story that ended with "... and then we all went to jail." I really don't like being compared to someone that is for executing retarded people. I might kick cats on a whim (no, not your cat) - but I do have some shred of decency. Gah. |

Had a great lunch with steve and emily. Afterwards we all went over to Wes' house where he regaled us with Lowtax's Pusher Robot and Shover Robot. A great time was had by all.. then it got weird. Steve drops me off at my house and i realize that there is something on my porch. Its a sewing machine table and a bike. I grab steve and we check the house out non miami vice style. No one was in the house. I dont' understand it - why did someone just drop off their crap on my porch? In any event - i have left the sewing machine table to die on the curb when the trash man gets here and i will more than likely be selling the bike. If anyone comes over to claim these - i will be telling them that possession is nine tenths of the law and to get the hell off my lawn. (then they will hear the sound of the shot gun loading.) Gah. Anyway - i am getting back to working on the Christmas in July galleries - there are some nice pics where my leg is unharmed and all non icky looking. mokitty called me up yesterday to invite me out to lunch. yakdog is coming to pick me up at 10:30am and then we are off to some new bar and grill. It's the same one that bardiva is working at. Hopefully we will get sat in her section. In other news, I am working on a Christmas in July photo gallery. Yeah they are the ones from last christmas - but they have never been seen before and it works for the theme :) I have three galleries prepped already. I forsee about two or three more by the time I am done with this section of thumbnails. Lets here it for unfounded motivation :) |

oooh oooh... yakdog called me today and let me know that my contest write up of the rules for the Miss Fantasm Pageant is up. I am all excited and went to go through online catalogs to see what sashes i want printed up (or make myself) and what crowns and tiaras would best describe Miss Fantasm 2002. I want everything to go smoothly. There are so many crowns to look at - and most of them are HUGE. I dunno if i want the Miss Fantasm to be able to receive foreign radio stations when she dons this thing. But then again, it just screams "LOOK AT ME AND KNEEL BEFORE ME" it just seems like the right thing to get. Heck, i think i might get one for myself to wear. I can wear it around the house when vacuuming naked - won't that be a kick? Then I got all sash happy and thought "Why not give out more than one sash and not for this contest?" Well I am back from atlanta..; had a fabo time....Many thanx to mrsmut and necrophagi and tat2rob for your wonderful hospitality and giggles. Many thanx for the party that veloria, orangecone and zombiefoot threw on friday. I had such a great time that I dont' remember getting home. This is the coolest..
Ten minutes before i am supposed to leave for Atlanta i am rummaging through my house trying to find my sunglasses. I encounter a package mom had sent with me from the last time i was there. Its from New Zealand. Wow. Who loves me? I open it up and its this CD "Strawpeople." Ususally I am like ho hum about cd's that i don't know - but on a whim i took it out and listened to the first couple of songs. WOW!! THIS CD IS FABULOUS!!! I am taking it with me to Atlanta to listen to it there. Big Thank yous go to dexterx and his co hort Dr. Stupid. |

So no one i know here in huntsville has anything planned for the fourth (startling enough this includes my parents). Either that or everyone is having some sort of super secret tea party that i wasn't invited to.... So what's a gal to do? Well as soon as i get packed, i am off to Atlanta. I am a little behind schedule ("Dude Where's my Car?" is on) but i am confident i am not missing anything. I am staying with necrophagi, mrsmut and tat2rob. I always have a swell time there - and hey - i was there last year for the fourth so why break tradition. Shane has to work today so Roger will be amusing me with his pie anecdotes ("if you had a choice between heaven and pie heaven - choose pie heaven. It could be a trick - but hey... its pie"). I bet we even get to watch "The Specials" again. How fun is that? LOL Then tomorrow nite we are going to zombiefoot's shindig. circlek says he is gonna meet us out there. Coolies... I'll have my cell with me if anyone needs me. |

Look Look Look!!! I got my plane tickies for Canada .... i have reserved my usual futon at the Ont household and will be there from August 1st to the 5th. jenont was joking around and then told me that she didnt' know how comfy i would be in their new house as they live in cow country and no longer reside near Downtown Canada. Ummmm... where do i live now that's such a booming metropolis? Then she tells me "we don't live near a Tim Horton's anymore." WHAT? how is that possible? From Buffalo to their old house there were enough franchises to populate Alabama - what underground cave had they relocated to? Jen laughed at me and said she was sure she could find something. I think they are just kidding. I will spazz out on that problem when i get to it. A caffeinated Dawn is a happy Dawn.
